Basic Education

 

The school follows subject-centered approach; there is a predetermined list of subjects, topics, and standardized learning goals that all students need to acquire. In the first year, the school has opened from Grades KG1 to G3 with the intention to progressively open up more levels at the Basic Education Level as well as the lower Secondary (Grades 7 and 8) as of the next Academic Year (2025-26).



KNO schools offers a wide range of programmes and subjects that are systematically blended in one whole lot of learning objectives and competencies. Our dual Programme consists of two main learning streams that complement each other in a way that nurtures our students:

Arabic-based Learning programme (National Programme): It is the programme that is officially approved for the Primary level by the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman. this includes the following subjects:
  • Islamic Studies
  • Social Studies
  • Arabic Language
English-based Learning Programme (Cambridge Primary Programme). This programme is also officially approved by the Ministry of Education in the sultanate of Oman as an international English-based Primary Programme. It provides a wide spectrum of balanced educational competencies that help students strengthen their learning outcomes and enhance their acquired knowledge and skills. The selected subjects are as follows:
  • English
  • Math
  • Sciences
  • ICT
  • PE
  • Global Perspective

All the above listed subjects provide ample time and opportunities for teachers and students to work on building creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and team-working. To achieve these attributes, we use state-of-the-art technology, smart learning, well-equipped Learning resource Center, blended with a set of teaching techniques that are used to enhance students’ linguistic and learning competencies such as productive language, creative writing, fluency-building, project-based learning, learning by doing, Learning via experiments to name but a few.
